We were off to an inauspicious start at this course when we arrived on a Sunday night and the place was deserted. When we arrived at the booth an talked to the attendant they told us they were still open until 9 pm (45 minutes from the time we got there) and thought we’d be able to get a round in before then. She then told us that they didn’t have any scorecards for us to use because they ran out. All of this was relayed to us in about the most monotone voice we’ve ever experienced at a course.
The course itself is rather plain with a slight nautical theme to it. The layout is very nice though, making good use of the land it is on and providing for long holes and plenty of space between them. However the carpets were threadbare and in several places you can see right to the concrete. The rubber starting mats were cracked and broken and the flags (which we’re not fans of to begin with) were also broken and laying over in several holes. With a little bit of maintenance this course would actually be a good tournament course given the design of the holes. We wouldn’t recommend this course as a must-see attraction but it is one of the few in the area and it is right off of the highway.
